Director and founder (in 2001) of UK Bioscience Consultants. Prior to this Vivienne spent over 20 years in biomolecular research for two of the leading pharmaceutical companies, Wellcome (Wellcome Biotech) and SmithKline Beecham, where she held a variety of research management roles, including head of eukaryotic gene expression technologies. She chaired or served on a number of R&D review panels and the Genetic Manipulation Safety committe. In 1997 Vivienne was one of four SB employees who formed a spin-out company, Adprotech Ltd, a company developing novel protein therapeutics and vaccines, where she initially formed and headed the molecular biology department. She subsequently moved into a business development role to commercialise Adprotech’s technologies. She is author of a patents and peer-reviewed articles, and has a PhD from Imperial College, London in gene expression technologies.
